The Chinese New Year starts tomorrow. It is celebrated on the basis of the second or third new moon after the winter solstice, which usually falls around the shortest day on December 21.
This year is the year of the tiger, one of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac. Each animal is accompanied with one of the five natural elements. Water, wood, fire, earth or metal. The natural element is also called the celestial sign. For the tiger this year it is the sign of water. 2022 is therefore the year of the water tiger.
The character of a water tiger is reflected in a strong self-esteem and ability to learn. Ambitious, energetic and talented, it is considered to be the most powerful sign in the zodiac.
How you interpret this year for yourself from the Chinese zodiac is of course open to you, you are the possibilities yourself. For me personally, this will be the year in which I will try to wear my heart upon my sleeve. If you are interested, please read about it in my next blog.
Tomorrow I invite you to make a little dragon dance. In China, a dragon dance on New Year’s Day brings good luck and prosperity.
