In the English language a nice distinction is made between two forms of fear. Fear is an expression of acute fear with a clear cause and anxiety is an expression of an ongoing, underlying fear or unrest, the cause of which is not entirely clear to yourself. It is the latter form of fear that can disrupt your life. It can help you gain insight into why you feel vulnerable and unsafe in certain situations. Dealing with the emotion of fear will enable you to make contact with your own vulnerability. If we don’t have to hide behind a wall from the outside world, we can start to feel much more connection and love. Not only with our environment and others, but especially with ourselves.
